Stay Indie. Think Loud.
Board is a snapshot-of-thought app where you can leave ideas just as they are.
You can drop in unorganized notes, half-formed ideas, fragments of daily life, work notes, and more as cards.
There is no need to make everything neat from the start. Only when it becomes necessary, you can shape things later with tags.
Board does not assume that everything should be organized from the beginning.
Most note apps and to-do apps tend to assume that you will:
・sort things into folders
・arrange them into lists
・manage them through deadlines and notifications
Board is different.
What matters in Board is that you can leave thoughts in place before they are fully formed.
You do not need to decide on a structure first. You can capture the thought first and shape it later.
Tags in Board are not just labels for classification.
When you add a tag, a card’s:
・visibility
・sorting order
・state
can change.
For example:
・#active: tends to lift a card upward
・#hold: sinks it lower
・#done: marks it as completed
・#flow: makes it appear across all boards
In other words, tags in Board are not only markers to help you find things later.
They also change how cards look, behave, and are handled.
Because Board is also designed not to rush your thoughts.
Many apps ask you to act right away through deadlines and notifications.
Board is built so that thoughts and notes that do not need immediate action can simply stay where they are.
You come back to them when you need them.
That sense of timing is an important part of Board.
Board works well for things like:
・keeping work notes and everyday notes in the same place
・capturing ideas the moment they come to mind
・holding thoughts that are not ready to be organized yet
・serving as a place before moving things into a to-do app or note app
・writing things down with the idea that you will organize them later
Board works best as a place before organizing.
Rather than a place to store finished information, it is closer to a place where thoughts are still moving.
Board includes tutorials for different levels of understanding.
・Starter
The smallest possible entry point for people who just want to try it first
・Guide
An introduction to the core ideas behind Board
・Basic
A tutorial for learning the basics of tags and interactions
・Extra
Additional guidance for people who want to go a little deeper
These are designed to support both people who want to start by trying it and people who prefer to read and understand as they go.
Yes. You can export your Board content from Settings and keep a copy of it.
At the moment, however, exported content cannot be imported back into Board.
The export feature is intended mainly for keeping a copy elsewhere or organizing it in another place if needed.
Not necessarily.
Board can be used as a place to keep thoughts before they become fully organized.
When the time comes, you can keep using them in Board, or move them into another app or document for further organization.
Rather than being a place to create a finished form from the beginning, Board is more naturally used as a place for thoughts that are still in motion.
Board may be a good fit for people who:
・find it tiring to organize everything from the start
・want to write first before deciding on folders or hierarchies
・feel exhausted by notifications and deadlines
・want something between a note app and a to-do app
・think in layers rather than in checklists
On the other hand, if you want strict organization from the beginning, or a task manager centered around notifications, another app may suit you better.
Board will continue to grow through future updates, with new tags and features added little by little.
At the same time, no matter how many new features are added, one thing will stay the same:
Board will remain a place where thoughts can stay before they are fully organized.
